Ferrell Farms is a story of generations working the same soil. It began with Joseph F. Ferrell, who settled in Alabama in the 1880s. Some of the fields he farmed over a century ago are still part of the family’s operation today.

Elmer Ferrell built on that foundation, raising his family on the 40-acre “Homeplace” pasture, a patch of land that remains at the heart of the farm. Today, Jerry and Joel carry on that tradition, tending cattle on pastures between Holly Pond and Walter.

The farm grew with the joining of families. When Jerry Ferrell married Janet Mann, the Mann-Ferrell Farm became part of the operation, now home to Jeremy’s grazing herd.
Today, Ferrell Farms encompasses more than 250 acres and leases an additional 100 acres, supporting over 100 head of cattle. Through every pasture and every herd, the farm continues a legacy of stewardship, family, and connection to the land that has lasted for generations.
